Your big day is approaching faster than you ever imagined. Slowly you are checking off the multitude of decisions that need to be made for your big day one by one. Then comes the very important task of deciding on your wedding invitations, the look, the feel, the wording, where do you even begin? The invitations really have the ability to set the tone for the entire look and feel of your wedding. In order to make this part of your wedding planning as simple and straightforward as possible we wanted to give you the inside look at the exact custom process we use, so you know exactly what to expect when designing your wedding invitations with us at Silverplate Press.
step 1: Take a Look at our Portfolio & Get In Touch!
Start thinking about the look and feel of your invitations. Take notes and gather inspiration on aspects that appeal to you. From there send us a message so we can start things off and schedule a consultation to discuss your vision further.
step 2: Consultation
It is so important to us that we get to know our clients so we love to chat face to face whenever possible over Skype or Facetime. We feel that gives us a great opportunity to get a feel for who you are, get to know your personality and hear you describe your vision for your wedding day. During this consultation, we will also discuss things like quantities, paper and envelope options, colours, and any additional items such as addressing, belly bands and wax seals. Ideally, I’d love to send you some samples first, so that you can get a good idea for the look and feel of our quality, so if you have any favourites that you’ve seen in our portfolio or instagram, please let us know and we’ll send them your way.
Step 3: Proposal
Once all the details are compiled from our consultation we will put together a proposal and send it your way! You have the ability to make changes to this proposal by changing or adding more options or just saying Let’s Do This! and we will send over the contract to being the design stage.
Step 4: Contract
Once the contract is received, you sign it and so do we. Then a 50% deposit is required to start our custom process together.
Step 5: Design Process
Once we arrive at this stage of the process we will discuss and determine the wording for your invitations. Based on our conversation, we provide you with 3 different design options sent through PDF to your email. You will have up to 3 rounds of revisions to tweak and make changes. Generally, the invitation is designed first and the additional pieces are designed once the invitation direction is clear. You will have 3 rounds of changes for your additonal pieces as well. Once you are totally in love with the design, and have double checked that the information is correct, give your approval, sign off and we take it from there!
Step 6: Letterpress Printing
From here we hand-craft each of your wedding invitations on our beautiful antique printing press, giving you one-of-a-kind keepsake invitations. We produce everything right here in our studio, no third party printers or additional people to deal with.
Step 7: Packaging & Delivery
Before we can send you your invitations the remaining 50% payment is due. Once received we package up your invitations and send them to you! Now you can really get excited as we let you know they are on their way and will be arriving soon!
Step 8: Happy Dance!
Your invitations are in hand, you jump for joy and maybe even sneak in a little happy dance!
