It’s hard for me to say what my favourite part of the process is. I love sitting down with these couples who are in the middle of planning such an important day in their lives and picking their brains to figure out what makes them unique because let’s face it; we’re all different, each relationship is different and personal. Wedding invitations need to reflect that, showcase who they are as a couple and set the tone for their wedding day. I love being able to take that information and transform it into a beautiful keepsake for each and every couple I work with. I am so thankful for all of my clients that trusted me and chose me to be a part of the special day – I feel so incredibly honoured.
Not everyone gets it. But I think everyone has something that they just can’t get enough of — I love what I do! It gives me a purpose beyond being a mother, a wife, a friend — it fills me up creatively, and without it, I think I would go completely nuts. I was first introduced to letterpress printing back in 2009 when I took a tabletop letterpress workshop with Snap & Tumble, and I was instantly hooked. It was love-at-first-sight. Even in my wildest dreams, I could not have imagined that in just seven years, I would be sitting in my very own letterpress studio waiting for a client to come by to pick up their wedding invitations. Invitations that I designed and crafted with care and put my heart and soul into. I love every minute of the process from designing the concept to carefully guiding each sheet of paper through my incredible antique printing press and watching these beauties come to life!
If I could leave you with one piece of advice; jump in with two feet when life presents you with an opportunity to follow your passion. It doesn’t often happen, so keep your eyes open and be ready to make that leap, and you’ll never really have to work a day in your life.
